REFLECTION - April 16
Do you live your life trying to understand everything without questioning? Perhaps you believe your journey on earth must be planned for you, just as you believe your retirement years will be given to you. In order to better reflect on your life, consider these questions:
What is it like in your world when, because of the circumstances, you go unnoticed and unheard? What is it like in your world when you feel small and unimportant? What is it like in your world when you are tired and have no time to rest? What is it like in your world when you are fearful and have no support? What is it like in your world when you are in pain and cannot embrace the hurt? What is it like in your world when you are hungry and there is nothing to feed you? What is it like in your world when you are sad and no one cares? What is it like in your world when you need warmth and nothing is offered? What is it like in your world when you have so much to give and no one is interested?
The wonder of you
As individuals, you must look at the miracle of yourself, not at the past but at what impresses you about yourself now, for that is the wonder of you, the miracle of you. You are made aware of the many blessings in life as well as many gifts and many wonders that sharpen your truth. But there is no good in the lesson if you do not have joy in the learning. There is no good in the meaning if you cannot hear the word and no good in the song if there is no need to sing. There is no good in the rhythm when the energy has no place to flow. But there is a purpose for you. You must trust in that knowledge.
There is a manual to be taught and one to be heard, and even though you wonder about yourself, you have yet to discover the wisdom of how you can become a better person. The way to begin, however, is to learn how to laugh, to see the miracle of laughter. Learn how to recognize the gospel of your own Godliness. Learn how to understand and accept yourself with pleasure instead of criticism. Be content but not so content that you become complacent in your world. Keep yourself mindful of what truth is while opening your ears to hear the loud sound of falseness. Don’t study yourself hard, for it will only put you down to size in a place where you don’t belong, in a room where you are not heard, and in a voice that is softer than anyone can hear. Be present in the moment, for that is the song to sing. It is the treasure of your years even though you may not recognize the age of your spirit. Believe in your worth for nothing will come to you until you do. Keep yourself mindful of where you always belong. Then you will see the wonder of who you are.
Create magic
Listen to the hearts of others, for there you will find you. If you are afraid of momentum, you will live in a world that is false. Be gentle with your praise, and you will always make friends. Be open to your ideas, and others will seek you for fuel. Be open to space without having to fill it up. Be aware of the presence of light even when you stand in the aisle of darkness. Be willing to change even if you are afraid to learn. Be willing to wait to know which way to turn.
Be willing to offer advice as you counsel. Listen hard to the words given, for they belong to you. Keep yourself motivated, for unless you do, you will experience idleness, and that is no place to be. Stay in the court of your own agenda, and you will keep your journey light for others. And, know that to live a fulfilled life, you will need to feel the joys you experienced over and over.
So, be amazed at the wonder of you. God hears many sounds, but none are greater than the one that is you, for you are born as a unique being. Embrace the wonders of you and in doing so you will create magic.
